Artist statement
In her artistic practice, Yuliia explores the inner spiritual body as a form of matter in which experience, emotions, and memory are accumulated.
She reflects on various states of women within the contemporary social context, addressing everyday challenges, processes of self-realization, experiences, fatigue, internal contradictions, and the constant search for balance. Through her works, Yuliia brings forward the female voice, giving it space for open and honest expression.
Sources of inspiration for the artist include personal experience, as well as the stories of her family and close environment. At the same time, global events and social processes that shape the contemporary world significantly influence her artistic vision.
The fluid technique in her practice functions as a conceptual tool that emphasizes the uniqueness of each individual. By its nature, fluid painting is a largely uncontrolled and unpredictable process. In this sense, the technique itself becomes a metaphor for the individuality of human experience.
In her practice, the artist draws attention to phenomena that seem obvious, yet often remain outside the focus of everyday perception, particularly in the context of women’s experience. Her works operate through metaphor, leaving space for personal interpretation and emotional engagement from the viewer.
